Survey for Decomissioning
SEA cares about the
environment, in fact it is ISO 14001
certified.
Since 2021 it has been carrying
out a project aimed to recover
and dispose from the seabed
of approximately 1000 flexible pipes in different lengths and diameters, off the coast of Brazil.
The scope of the project is the recovery of flexible pipes, hoses and power cables from the seabed and located in 3 defined zones for a total area of approximately 250 square km. Once recovered and transferred to shore, the flexible pipes are taken to SEA’s base, where they are unloaded, washed and inside-dried and then cut into transportable sections of 6m. Once the recovery, cleaning and cutting process is completed, the products are sectioned and shipped to specialized companies, authorized for disposal and recycling of materials such as iron, steel, rubber, plastic, polymers, etc.
Further to the success of ALSUB Decommissioning Project carried out in 2023 in Rio de Janeiro, SEA has recently set up a new branch focused on Survey Services (Bathymetry services & Detection of underwater flexible lines, anchoring components and debris, together with Support to recovery operations).
SEA’s purpose is to follow the entire process from recovery to disposal, in compliance with Quality, Environment and Safety regulations.
